We moved New Pornographers' "Challengers" into the leg swings slot and threw in some pirouettes to "Ice Cream" by New Young Pony Club. The little crunches interlude has been "And the Living's Easy", from the Nightmares on Wax album Wax on Records.

National Dance Week is upon us, and it's an amazing opportunity for people to experience all kinds of FREE dance events, from showcases to classes to open rehearsals. It's not just limited to Euro classical dance forms, but features ethnic styles, partner dancing, and some local specialties like circus and hoop!
I'm teaching a free class this Sunday, the 27th. It will all be material we've done in class already, and I think I'm going to do the combo we did that we flipped to face the other direction for partnering.

PDP will perform a new piece called Point B (in which I finally get to wear a party dress onstage!), plus that skittle-tastic oldie-but-goodie Shift (in which I am stepping in as Grape*), and the new sexy velvet Birds, Bees and Other Metaphors.

This will be a shared evening of dance with Printz Dance Project and Paco Gomes dancers.
PDP will premiere Point B and will perform two audience favorites.

I will be teaching a workshop during the month of June for those students interested in delving a little deeper than the class experience. We'll create an entire piece together, and then have an informal showing of our work for friends and family at the end.
The studio and I just settled on the schedule a couple days ago, so I don't have sign-up forms or fliers, but the barest details are these:
Month of June
Tuesdays and Thursdays for one hour after class: 7:30 - 8:30
$120 for 8 sessions
Mixed level (My goal is to customize sections of choreography to your abilities)
Class is not required on those days, but I suggest taking mine, Heide's or other, since a warmup will not be given in rehearsals.
If you plan to take advantage of this workshop, please feel free to let me know what kind of work you would be interested to try. I'm very open to suggestions around movement style, partnering, music quality, etc.

I'll be subbing the intermediate fusion class for Stacy Printz on Wednesday the 20th from 4:30 - 6pm in the same studio as our usual class. Slightly accelerated pace, but much of the same material. Come if you can!
